Where are you from?
Green Island, NY

Describe your object?
It’s a necklace made from a harvested spider web. It’s metal, in the window is a web captured on black construction paper. It was harvested in the early morning from an abandoned web by Wendy Cook.

How is your object meaningful to you?
The artist who made it for me is a very special person in my life. Together we run Mighty Girl Art Camp, an art empowerment camp for girls ages 8-13. Wendy was born on the same day, in the same area of upstate New York, 25 years apart.

How do you see yourself as an artist in your community?
I see myself as an organizer and programmer, making a platform to elevate underrepresented voices in my community.

What is your hope for the future?
I hope for society to be based on mutual aid and compassion

Décrivez votre objet?
C’est un collier fait d’une toile d’araignée. Il est en métal, dans la petite fenêtre il y a une toile posée sur du papier noir. Wendy Cook a trouvé cette toile abandonnée au petit matin.

Comment votre objet a-t-il un sens pour vous?
L’artiste qui l’a créé pour moi est une personne très importante dans ma vie.
Nous dirigeons un camp d’autonomisation, le “ Mighty Girl Art Camp “pour les filles âgées de de 8 à 13 ans. Wendy est née le même jour que moi, dans la même région de New York, 25 ans avant moi.

Comment vous voyez-vous comme artiste dans votre communauté?
Je me considère comme organisatrice et programmeuse pour créer une plateforme qui donne voix a ceux qui sont moins représentés dans ma communauté.

Quel est votre espoir pour l’avenir?
Je souhaite que la société soit basée sur l’aide mutuelle et la compassion.
