Where are you from?
Describe your object?
Where is your object from?
Occident, America maybe (Assembled in Nigeria)
How is your object meaningful to you?
This object reminds me of the good memories of my journey, the memories of childhood. This object had more value than gold at one time in my life. It was the time when I started my career where the instrumental was the rare pearl.
How do you see yourself as an artist in your community?
As a Nigerian artist, I tell myself that I have no right to make mistakes, a whole generation sees me as a leader, as a bearer of their concerns. As said Aimé Cesaire “I’m the mouth of those who have no mouth.” I consider myself a global citizen, a bearer of hope.
What is your hope for the future?
In everything I do, I try to think positive, every day, every moment, even in periods of despair. It’s for me the logical continuation of the future. If we think negatively, there is a possibility that the future will be negative.
