Describe your object?
My object is a rock found along the west coast of Ireland in a place called the Flaggy Shore.

How is your object meaningful to you?
I lived along the Flaggy Shore with my wife and kids and I feel very attached to the beauty of the land and the people. My kids and I would look for the rocks that were striped (like the one I brought) which were called “wishing stones” by the locals. I loved those times with my kids.
How do you see yourself as an artist in your community?
As an artist, I feel connected to a long line of art makers committed to something illogical and yet transformative, not unlike a religious order.
What is your hope for the future?
As a father, I hope for a future in which common sense prevails and utopian fantasies become reality.
