Where are you from?
Niamey, Niger

Describe your object?
It is a round silver ring with a white
stone and a bit of red on the side

Where is your object from?
It is a ring that a friend gave me 6 years
ago for St. Valentines’ day.

How is your object meaningful to you?
This ring is a souvenir that makes me feel closer to my friend, even though he is actually far from me. I can feel his presence through this ring. 6 years ago, this ring was way too big, and now it’s so tight that it squeezes my ﬁnger.

How do you see yourself as an artist in your community?
I see myself as a ﬁghting womxxan who can help sensitize and heal through my art. To be an artist who can command attention through her writings and her voice to defend her people. To be this woman artist who knows who she is wherever she may be in the world, who defends and who helps.

What is your hope for the future?
I hope that the Nigerian attitude will change and that female artists won’t be looked down upon by society and will be taken as seriously as the other artists.

Décrivez votre objet?
C’est une bague en argent, de forme ronde avec une pierre de couleur blanche et un peu de rouge sur le côté.

D’où vient votre objet?
C’est une bague qui m’a été offert par un ami il y a de cela 6 ans. A l’occasion de la fête de Saint Valentin.

Comment votre objet a-t-il un sens pour vous?
Cette bague est un souvenir qui me rapproche de mon ami, malgré qu’il soit loin de moi actuellement, à travers cette bague je sens toujours sa présence prête de moi. Il y a 6 ans de cela cette bague flottai à ma main. Et voilà qu’aujourd’hui elle met serre même.

Comment vous voyez-vous comme artiste dans votre communauté?
Je me vois comme une femme battante qui peut aider, sensibilisa, guérir à travers mon art. Être une artiste qui s’impose à travers mes écrits et ma voie pour défendre mon peuple.
Être cet femme artiste qui sais ce qu’elle veut partout où elle se trouve, qui défend et qui aide.

Quel est votre espoir pour l’avenir?
D’abord j’espère que la mentalité Nigérien changera et que les artistes femmes ne seront plus mas vus par la société et aussi seront considérée comme les autres artistes.
